Thrills and Skills for Life amoungst other things are event managers. Most recently we organised a trip to Gibraltar for St Augustine's Priory Girls School in west London. The event was very special and covered every aspect of Gibraltar

We organised a visit to the Gibraltar Government and Mr Ernest Gomez the Deputy Education Minister spent time talking to the girls about the relationship between the rock and Britain. He also spent time explaining the similarities and differences between the various British education initiatives and Gibraltar’s education system, and how the rocks

education authority was able to pick the best bits out of the British systems. The girls asked plenty of questions and were intrigued to hear that there was a Hebrew school in Gibraltar. The girls exchanged gifts with Mr Gomez, giving him a plaque and he in return giving them several books including the history of the rock and its education system.

The girls

started the second day showing their interest in British Gibraltar and then it was straight to the top of the rock via a great many stops for rest on the way. The girls really enjoyed the Mediterranean steps and were blessed with sunshine, a break for the whole of Gibraltar after 3 weeks of rain. The Gibraltarian apes were of course exciting and more than

one tried to steal the girl’s lunch! As the girls progressed up the rock they learnt facts about the rock including its proud Naval and Army heritage. The girls found time to view the dolphins that live off the rock and also enjoyed views of Gibraltar from the sea.

The final part of the trip and a quite amazing experience for the girls was a visit to the Royal Gibraltar Regiment where they conducted a rifle shoot on the rifle laser range. A very special expereince indeed!

Thrills and Skills For Life

Thrills and Skills for Life started the new year very busy! Leadership,Management, Communications and team building training was conducted at Grange Primary School in Essex for 2 days covering training for over 60 children. They conducted a variety of tasks and activities from building chariots to rescue the princess to two legged races over obstacle courses! All the tasks were designed to promote team work and communication and both the teachers and staff were thrilled with the 2 day package and the results for the children. Our team will be going back there in the future to conduct team training for the whole staff from school cook to teacher!

Meanwhile Chris has been conducting Cycle Leading for the NHS Primary Care Trust for Durham and Darlington's various cycle clubs, helping to keep Durham healthy.

Thrills and Skills for Life conducted cycle training for the NHS in 2 new schools this year, at St Williams Primary School in Trimdon Village and Fishburn Primary in Stockton on Tees, both schools in County Durham.

Thrills and Skills for Life won 3 more contracts to produce mapping and photography of cycle routes, to conduct risk assessments for Walking Tours and risk assessments for "Away Days" for cycle groups.

I think you will agree the photos are lovely:

The year could not have started better with Chris Hall Media bidding for and getting 3 contracts to make short films for the Durham and Darlington NHS Primary Care Trust. One film is Cycle Marshal Training, One is Walk Leader Training and the third is a Promotional DVD covering every aspect of The Get Active teams activities to keep Durham and Darlington fit. Chris got straight on and commenced filming of the Cycle Marshal training film. The company invested in a new Apple Mac to edit the footage and Chris has been at Gateshead College editing the footage and producing the film.

Durham and Darlington Primary Care Trust intend selling the training films nationwide!
