Hi Chris,
Just a quick email to say thank you for yesterday, everyone seemed to really enjoy it, (feels strange saying that about first aid) with a many of them saying it was the best course they've done and some of them have done quite a few!
Just one of the comments received from the Northern Archaeological Associates where Thrills and Skills for Life recently taught First Aid. We taught the core skills required for Emergency First Aid at Work but Chris enhanced it and added to it so it was relevant to Archaeologists who often work in the field and on digs sometimes in small groups, often in areas not accessible by ambulance. What would you do if the ambulance could not get to you? The Northern Archaeological Associates now know and are formulating a plan after our course.
We can tailor First Aid Training to your group, organisation and/or company so it is relevant and appropriate and at between 50.00 to 65.00 GBP per person. You have a particularly cost effective course as well!

Team Building for Year 5's
THRILLS AND SKILLS FOR LIFE have continued developing team training and team building and it is increasingly successful. Most recently Chris worked at Fishburn Primary School in Fishburn, Stockton on Tees. The school is quite forward thinking and has embraced team building activities. The day went really well and was based upon a journey from sea to land and up a mountain, then, finally rescuing the prince / princess's from the tower!
All the tasks are designed to include everybody and each task requires a new leader, who must get his or her team to complete the task usually faster than the other team. This then galvanises the team into a common goal and bonds children who sometimes 5 minutes before had disliked each other. It allows children who normally keep to the back of events to shine and present their skills and it highlights gifted children. Most rewarding it shows up skills to the children themselves, they did not know they had! There is increasing emphasis and pressure on schools from SATS and exams and performance tables and it would be easy for them to sideline activities that teach life skills, yet, as early as 16 that's exactly what a child needs...Life skills.
Thrills and Skills for Life would like to thank St Augustine's Priory, Wickford Grange Primary, Fishburn Primary, Bowburn Youth Project and The Durham and Darlington NHS Primary Care Trust for being forward thinking and look forward to continuing to provide you with first class training in the future.

Adventure day at Aughil Castle
AUGHIL CASTLE fun day in aid of the Calvert Trust which provides opportunities for disabled people. Thrills and Skills for Life provided absailing and chariot racing and leadership tasks for the day, free of charge and over 40 people took the opportunity to absail down the tower. Seen here tested by Chris Hall. Over 50 people took part in the leadership tasks and everybody hugely enjoyed the tasks. In the words of the Organisers Simon and Wendy Bennett the owners of the castle "the absail was the jewel in the event crown". Their son who took 4 attempts to attempt the absail described it as the "most awesome thing he had ever done"
The event raised over 1000 pounds and a large proportion of this was raised by Thrills and Skills for Life.
